A leader with the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan says producers must find ways of making intergenerational transfers more efficient.

Don Connick is the Vice-President of the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan and he says it costs too much to continually refinance the farm with every intergenerational transfer.

He says proper planning, and possibly changes to the tax system, could prevent the massive loss of capital that usually occurs when a farm is handed down.
